The results of the Fillingham Village survey from 2025 were presented at the Parish Meeting in February 2026.

FILLINGHAM SURVEY RESULTS ANALYSIS

Summary: We had a great response to the survey with just over 70% response rate. This gives us a good appreciation of the majority of people’s views.

Virtually all respondents wanted to see improvements made. These fell into 2 main areas:

1. 65% wanted more social events/activities (ie: weekly or monthly as opposed to quarterly or less often). a. 88% wanted seasonal craft fairs, Xmas, Harvest, etc. b. 59% wanted fitness & wellbeing classes c. 57% wanted quizzes & coffee mornings d. 72% of you said you would be willing (or maybe) to help run or organise events.

2. The other main area for improvement was to improve the landscaping and general maintenance (incl litter) of the green spaces and verges and this included the church grounds. In fact a whopping 88% of respondents supported funding improvements to the church grounds either from village hall funds or via fundraising.

In terms of how people would like to receive communications about events and general updates, the significant majority would prefer social media (Fillingham Facebook page) and WhatsApp.

ACTIONS As we’ve already communicated, in order to deliver on what villagers want, the plan is to restructure the way the village (not parish) is run to focus on social events and maintenance - in the form of an Events Team and Maintenance Team. Several people have offered their support for either team and we now need to put them into place.

We’ve already had an initial Events Team Meeting and plan to hold a follow up. An Events WhatsApp group has also been set up.

We’ve also had a good response to people willing to help with maintenance around the village. The plan is to have an initial village walkabout with team members to draw up a list of what needs doing and a WhatsApp group set up.
