Notes from Fillingham Parish Meeting

Monday, 3rd December 2018

1. In attendance: Margaret O’Grady (chair), Peter O’Grady (vice-chair), Dawn Greetham (clerk) and three parishioners.

2. Apologies for absence: Glen Cargill, Vicky Cargill, PCSO Julie McFaul, Zoe Rampley.

3. Notices of interest: None.

4. Minutes for approval of meeting dated 6th November 2018: The minutes were unani-mously approved and signed.

5. Matters arising from those minutes not covered in the meeting: Community Speed Watch is offering a £40 one off joining fee which will include six orange speed signs. Dawn proposed and Ray seconded joining Community Speed Watch. The EICR test to the Village Hall has been carried out at a cost of £180, with no issues. Martin to enquire cost of four PRI flood-lights.

6. Reports:

I. PCSO McFaul is on leave at present and has not forwarded a report.

II. Finance report on accounts: Electrical inspection £180. Next test due in five years’ time. Tree lighting event raised £108 for Nomad Trust. There has been no response to the proposed increase to the Precept for 2019-20 to £4,021. The Final claim for the Precept will now be therefore submitted before 25th January 2019. The document was signed by three officers to the Parish but the Responsible Finance Officer will sign at the earliest opportunity, this was agreed by all at the meeting.

III. Village Hall: As stated above, the hall passed the EICR test. The village has been suc-cessful with the Tesco Bags of Help Funding, with £1,000 being awarded by Tesco, for improvement work to the village hall. There followed a discussion around the best use of this grant. A replacement door and window is required to the kitchen. Margaret has received two quotes for secondary glazing to the hall. One for £2,270 and another for £3,455. Margaret is still awaiting one more quote. Margaret to ring IGAS to check if their grant may be used for secondary glazing.

IV. Playground: regular checks are being carried out and there are no issues to report.

7. Correspondence:

8. Parish/District/county matters:

I. The Parish now has access to the electoral register for 2018/19. The street light out-side the rectory is now repaired.

9. Any other business: The junction alert sign is still out of order.

10. Date of next meeting: Monday 4th February 2019. No meeting in January 2019.
