Notes from Fillingham Parish Meeting
Monday, 2nd September 2019 7.30
Fillingham Village Hall
1. In attendance: Margaret O’Grady Chair), Peter O’Grady V ice-Chair), Glenn Cargill RFO), Vicky Cargill (Dawn Greetham Clerk) and six parishioners.
2. Apologies for absence: PCSO Julie McFaul, Martin Holland.
3. Notices of Interest: None
4. Minutes for approval meeting 1st July: The minutes were unanimously approved and signed.
5. Matters arising from those minutes not covered elsewhere in the me eting:
I. Village Hall windows: Thanks were expressed to Judith for her help in completing the Building Consent Form which will submitted this week for approval. Grants will be sought for the funding
6. Reports:
I. Police: Two incidents have been reported. A suspicious vehicle on the High Street on 12.8.19 and a report of ASB/ noise/music on Fillingham road on 24.8.19. WLDC to be informed.
II. Finance: External playground inspection £ Monies received: RBS Fete money £ Village Fete £ coffee morning £29.50 Village hall Account Payment made £210 Grass cutting Parish Account.
III. Village hall: The boiler is temperamental. Three quotes for a new boiler have been received. Grant applied for from Screwfix B G to l carry out a free service.
IV. Playground: Regular playground inspections have been carried out.
7. Correspondence: No correspondence has been received.
8. Parish/District/county matters: Apple Day is Saturday, 5th October at 2pm, Greek Night 9th November at 7pm. The Christmas Saturday Market will take place on 23rd November between 10 and 12 o’clock. It was agreed that the contract for grass cutting will be put out to tender in the near future. A Parishioner proposed that the short mat bowling equipment that had been donated to the Parish be sold in order to raise funds for the hall windows and this was seconded. Objections to be received by 30th November. A Parishioner raised the possibility of a “Men in Sheds” group for the village. He will attend a forum in Ingham for more information. It was also proposed to list on Facebook companies that deliver to the village i.e milkman, vegetables and me at delivery. A comprehensive list will be compiled and added to the village Facebook page for information.
9. Any other business: Concern has been raised by a Parishioner with regards to the presence of rats on Rectory Lea. The Parish advised that the best cour se of action was to contact West Lindsey DC for further advice. The Parish will also remind dog owners in the village that dogs should be kept on a lead and that dog waste bags should be carried at all times.
10. Date of next meeting: 7th October to include the initial Annual budget meeting
