February 2020 Minutes
NOTES FROM FILLINGHAM PARISH MEETING
Monday 3rd February 2020 @ 7.30pm
1. In Attendance: Margaret O’Grady (Chair), Peter O’Grady (Vice-chair), Glenn Cargill (RFO), Vicky Cargill (ARFO), Cllr Roger Pattison, PCSO Julie McFaul, Dawn Greetham (Clerk) and thirteen parishioners.
2. Apologies for Absence: None
3. Notices of interest: None
4. Minutes for approval (meeting 2nd December): The minutes were unanimously approved and signed.
5. Matters Arising:
I. Village Hall: The conservation consent for the replacement of the windows is still ongoing.
6. Reports:
I. Police: Incident report no. 179/20/20. Theft of two sharp bend signs. Highways have been notified and will replace.
II. Finance: Firestop inspection £86.59. Gas invoice: £123.93 and electricity invoice:
123.78. Hire of hall has raised £39 and coffee mornings £26.50. The indoor bowls and mat have now been sold raising £200.Thanks were expressed to Martin for organising the sale.
III. Village Hall report: Thanks were expressed to Martin and Wendy for the donation of a dishwasher to the hall. Firestop check was carried out and a fire extinguisher has been replaced. The defibrillator has had a replacement pad. The boiler has been repaired. However, further maintenance work needs to be carried out. This is covered by the maintenance contract. The Screwfix grant which was applied for has not been granted.
The music licence for the hall needs to be renewed. The problem with condensation on the walls of the hall has been discussed and the contractor will return to repaint the walls.
IV. Playground: One of the straps holding the Lottery sign in place is broken. The divot in between the goalposts needs to be filled.
7. Correspondence: Invoice for Firestop inspection of fire extinguishers.
8. Parish/District/County Matters: A five-year review of the Local Plans is available for inspection on the website. The new crematorium in Lee is now open. Nominations for Community Awards are now being taken-the closing date is shortly.
- Streetlight 4143142 is now working.
- The street cleaner has cleaned the footpath. Further damage to the footpath on the High Street has been reported – fault number 4143413.
9. Any other business:
- Suzanne gave notice of her intention to step down as bookings clerk as soon as a replacement is in place.
- There was a discussion regarding the trees that have been cut down in the village. There was a request that the Parish enquire with regards to line of sight after removal of trees and whether natural screening would be out in the place of the removed trees.
- The new development in Rectory Lea was discussed and it is understood that the development is agreed but there are stipulations at present.
10. Date of next meeting: The next meeting will be held at 7.30 on 2nd March 2020.
There will be a Vintage Tea on 21st March and an Easter event on 10th April.
