 FILLINGHAM PARISH MEETING MINUTES 
Monday 8 September 2025 
 
ATTENDANCE

1.    WELCOME 
The Chair welcomed people to the meeting and took apologies. 
2.    NOTICE OF INTEREST 
None Reported 
3.    MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING   
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as a correct record.  
4.     MATTERS ARISING NOT ON THE AGENDA  
 Flood damage repairs on the building – The new cooker hood has been received and fitted. This is covered by the insurance and to-date £3,551.93 has been received. The Parish has contributed the excess of £250. All work is now completed.
Village hall – the external end wall has been repointed as damp was seeping in. Cost of repair was £500 as per the quote.
Community Emergency Response Team – Margaret O’Grady, Vicky Cargill and Gary and Miriam Whitelegg have agreed to work on this
REPORTS Finance Report 
Utilities have been paid and income from events has been received. 
The Precept for 2026 – 2027 was discussed. The RFO was not in attendance but had provided 3 options for consideration.

Playground Report.
Clamber Stack has been cleaned and the area around checked for safe distances away from tree branches.
6.     CORRESPONDENCE 
Letter tabled by Margaret and Peter O’Grady notifying the meeting that they would not be seeking re-election at the next AGM in May 2026. Margaret will also be standing down from her current role as Chair with village hall and all associated roles. The letter was accepted by the meeting.
7.     PARISH, DISTRICT, COUNTY MATTERS 
7a. Parish Matters. 
Footpath deterioration – Footpath deterioration High Street (opposite numbers 26-28) reported to Fix my street reference 2853008. Thet have advised that as yet this had not deteriorated sufficiently to warrant action.
Proposed Village Book Club – At the previous meeting it was agreed to invite a representative of interested parties supporting the initiative to join this meeting to discuss details.  As no-one was present this item is held over to the next meeting.
Bus stop – The bin at the bus stop has now been replaced. 
7b District Matters 
Concern that there may be a likelihood that refugees may be billeted there after the Governments commitment to find alternative accommodation to hotels. Fillingham Parish have joined with other parishes and signed a letter to Government objecting to the use of Scampton for this purpose.
County Matters – No report available 
AOB 
Village Coffee Monthly Morning - The monthly date has been changed to the first Friday in the month. The option of offering lunchtime soup and a roll in the Winter months was raised by Allison on behalf of Miriam with the request for confirmation on the proposal. Changes to times and costs will be notified and the meeting agreed to the proposal for November through to February. Rolls may be donated as this is once a month.
