8a Parish
Broadband – It was reported that the funding to enable the project to go ahead has been signed off and the contract has been signed. Despite the fact that information was given on the new properties on Church Farm Mews, they are not mentioned in the original scheme. No date for the work to begin, has been received.
Solar Farms update – A further application for an additional solar farm at Tillbridge has been made. There is a move to bring parish groups together. We are not campaigning against renewable energy but fighting the loss of valuable agricultural land for food production. (Campaigning group 7,000 Acres). Since the last meeting Peter has provided a consultation report to the West Burton and Cottam proposals. Issues include inadequate consultation, not engaging fully with the community and discrepancies in the classification of the land as compared with hat of DEFRA. The Cottam and West Burton Schemes are at the end of the pre-application stage. There are 5 stages to the process with stage 5 being the submission of the Scheme to the Secretary of State.
